Parent Education Event- The Teenage Experience Cultivating Compassion, Patience and a healthy Culture of Discipline.
Description: Often thought of as a trying time for parents, adolescence can be a golden opportunity to deepen our relationship with our children and perhaps perhaps deepen our own commitment to personal growth. We will explore the inward experience of a teenager in order to cultivate compassion for their struggles and investigate what is meant by the adolescent “fall from grace”. We will also look at the role of the emotions in discipline and the importance of keeping clear, firm boundaries with our teens with a cool and calm mind. This is an experiential class so come prepared to move.
DEI Summit
Thanks to your generous donations to the Jayasri Ghosh DEI Fund last year, we are inviting Tanisha Brandon-Felder of Racial Equity Consultants www.racialequityconsultants.com to come work with our school again in the New Year! Faculty and families will remember the fruitful work we did with her in 2018. The objective of this event will be a draft set of initiatives that will inform an eventual DEI strategic plan. It will be an opportunity for us to re-open the powerful conversation and to take Bright Water Waldorf School to the next step, as we seek to more fully represent our values, become better allies, interrupt historic inequities and work towards a truly inclusive community.
