Garden of Light
In a Winter Garden,
Dark the Earth below,
Earth is waiting, waiting, waiting
For her seeds to grow.
The spiral walk is a festival that is practiced in most Waldorf schools on or near the winter solstice. The tradition honors the seasonal cycle of light and darkness by arranging a simple spiral labyrinth walk.
This "spiraling" represents going inward — during the darkest days of the year — and kindling your own inner light.
At our Community Winter Spiral, families, caregivers, and our extended community are invited to come and participate in this seasonal tradition.
